Early Life
Will Smith was born Willard Carroll Smith Jr.
on September 25, 1968, in Philadelphia. The same year, he also took on a more somber role as a father who loses his young daughter in the drama Collateral Beauty. He is also a well-known philanthropist, who is involved with many charitable organizations. The role won the actor his first Academy Award for Best Actor in 2022.

Due to filming delays during the COVID-19 pandemic, Smith spent nearly a year in the mindset of his character, who was very spiritual and religious.
