A clear favorite leading up to the fight, the champion’s punching power was undeniably awesome, and there’s a memorable scene in which he pounds a heavy bag so hard he creates a turkey-sized dent in it.

Both men were unbeaten and while Frazier earned his heavyweight title in the ring, Ali proclaimed himself the peoples' champion and that Frazier must beat him to become undisptuted king of the division. So talented and so fast was Ali, that he was able to box while holding his left hand by his side and often pulled straight back to avoid punches, two of the game's cardinal sins.

Finally, in 1978, Olympic gold medalist Leon Spinks, participating in just his eighth pro fight, upset Ali to win the title. The lockdown has sincerely expanded the crowd base of Ludo King and it has gotten the best Indian game till date. 

The abrupt and gigantic measure of traffic which emerged during the lockdown time frame was unforeseen.

The film also features interviews with several notable fight fans, including Norman Mailer, George Plimpton, and Spike Lee. THE SELF-proclaimed "Greatest of All Time," Ali had a pretty good idea of what he was talking about.

He became the first man to win the heavyweight title three times and revolutionized the sport by introducing a style that went against many of the game's sacred teachings.

As Cassius Clay, he won a light heavyweight gold medal at the 1960 Olympics and began his ascent to the heavyweight crown. It is a decidedly glowing remembrance of the force Muhammad Ali once was, but this subjectivity aside, When We Were Kings is magnificent documentary art.

 

The film provides the historical context of Ali vs Foreman through footage of the violence which accompanied the transition of the Belgian Congo to the newly named ‘Zaire’ and the rise of Mobutu Sese Seko, the dictator who helped bring Ali vs Foreman to Kinshasa by promising each fighter five million dollars.

The fight itself, delayed by weeks because of a cut Foreman sustained in training, was held in a huge, open air stadium very late in the night to accommodate the American closed-circuit television audience.

Documentarian Leon Gast flew to Zaire to film both the fight and a music festival (featuring B.B. King, The Pointer Sisters, and Miriam Makeba) organized by promoter Don King. He worked at home for a very long time and formally dispatched Gametion Technologies in 2010, with a little office at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. 

At first, the organization made program games and at last moved to make games for Android and iOS.

But here, Ali displays strength, skill, intelligence, and tremendous charm, making it clear how he became one of the most renowned figures in the world of sports. Prior to the bout, Ali’s dressing room was likened to a morgue because of the pervasive feeling amongst his handlers that he was about to receive a beating. His better half, Soni Jaiswal fills in as his colleague at Gametion. 

He had an enthusiasm to play computer games particularly in the game parlors.

A verbal wizard who alternatively quotes Shakespeare and speaks, with probable insincerity, of his desire to use the fight’s proceeds for philanthropy, King shows off the charisma and cunning that would enable him to conquer the chaotic world of boxing promotion. The fight was held in Kinsasha, Zaire and Ali employed the now famous “rope-a-dope” to tire Foreman out before stopping him in the eighth round.

Ali successfully defended the title against a host of contenders, including the final fights of his trilogies with Frazier and Ken Norton.

And it’s still an enthralling watch almost thirty years later.
