She was born in 1956.

Our artists sat down to listen and wept because we loved her.  She is of Vietnamese, Chinese, Belgian and Malagasy descent, born in the island country of Madagascar. Ngoc Lan just smiled sadly and said: "Because Ngoc Lan can't see the sugar, she can't make up".  Like her predecessors, Bebe Hong Suong and Tiny Yong, French language Vietnamese singers who had each reached mainstream prominence in Francophone countries, Leslie's music career has not been centered around Vietnamese audiences.

Especially in the last period of her life, when her illness got worse and worse, she couldn't sing anymore.

My last memory with Ms. Ngoc Lan is meeting her at a music festival. Ngọc Lan was the fifth child in a well-off family. In 1998, Ngọc Lan made her last appearance during the filming of the outdoor scenes for Asia to film Video 18.

My eyes are blurred, I can't see anything, my makeup is smudged

Talented and beautiful is that, but Ngoc Lan is right in the "red face of silver destiny" when she has to endure a lot of pain from illness, retires from the stage and music while still young, most devoted to the profession. This was her last music video with Asia Center.

She particularly had huge success in Australia where she constantly received beautiful pink roses from the audiences. I didn't know she was sick, couldn't see anything. She recounted on a recent livestream:

"In the last time, Ms. Ngoc Lan suffered from scleroderma.
Ngọc Lan has also appeared on many stages worldwide and musical shows such as Hollywood Night, Asia and Paris By Night.

During her lifetime, Ngoc Lan was one of the female singers with the largest number of fans, from inside and outside the country. They rumored that she committed suicide because of her heartbreak, pregnancy, and childbirth; paralyzed in the whole body, being played with wormwood, so mentally unstable. She re-emerged in 1994 in the concert, "Ngọc Lan và Thính Giả Thương Yêu" in Anaheim California.

At first, with money short, she considered quitting her singing career, and sell hamburgers because she felt that her voice box limited how often she could sing. Her popularity with Vietnamese audiences has made Quynh Anh the carrier of the torch passed over graciously by a long list of talented Vietnamese songstresses of French popular music who had come before her.
