Ten years later, angry students, led by Enjolras, are preparing a revolution on the eve of the Paris uprising on June 5 and 6, 1832, following the death of General Lamarque, the only French leader who had sympathy towards the working class. In 1837 came Les Voix intérieures, a memorial of his father, who had been a Napoleonic general.

As a young boy, Hugo showed an interest in writing poetry. A Victor Hugo Encyclopedia. 2003 paperback edition. After returning to France in 1870, he became a symbol of republican triumph, yet he was haunted by the loss of two sons between 1871 and 1873. He predicted that Christianity would eventually disappear, but people would still believe in "God, Soul, and Responsibility."
Declining years and death
When Hugo returned to Paris in 1870, the country hailed him as a national hero.
Valjean saves the injured Marius, but everyone else, including Enjolras and Éponine, is killed. Through the journeys of its central characters, including Jean Valjean, Fantine, and Javert, the novel brings to light the struggles of the oppressed and critiques the harshness of the legal system. “Victor Hugo: French Dramatist". Hugo soon founded the journal Conservateur Litteraire, where he showcased his poetry alongside the works of emerging writers.
When Victor Hugo died in Paris on May 22, 1885, he was a time-honored man, crowned with worldwide glory, still enthusiastic and emotionally devoted to the last. It subsequently appeared on the stage in 1833, to great success.
In 1835 came Chants du crépuscule, which included many love lyrics (poems telling of emotion or love) to Juliette.
He was one of the most gifted writers of his times. When Victor was fifteen, he won the poetry contest held by the Académie Française and the next year placed first in the Académie des Jeux Floraux's contest.
