In the 1970s, Carpenter began an acting career and starred in the sitcom version of Barefoot in the Park and several television movies and comedy shows.Shakespeare’s other jointly written plays are Sir Thomas More and The Raigne of King Edward the Third. Shakespeare’s early plays were written in the conventional style of the day, with elaborate metaphors and rhetorical phrases that didn’t always align naturally with the story’s plot or characters.
In fact, these long narrative poems—1,194 and 1,855 lines, respectively—were Shakespeare’s first published works. From this, it is believed he was born on or near April 23, 1564, and this is the date scholars acknowledge as Shakespeare’s birthday. He attended until he was 14 or 15 and did not continue to university.
