Gary Clark, Jr.: JPEG RAW
by Doug Collette
In contrast to Gary Clark Jr.'s thunderous stage performances, the keen impact of which permeate Live (Warner Bros., 2014) and Live in North America 2016 (Warner Bros., 2017), his studio albums, including JPEG RAW, are ambitious eclectic pieces of work the force of which grow inexorably with repeated listening.
He has 25 Grammys as of 2019.
Wonder has also been active in social causes such as the anti-apartheid movement, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and the Retinitis Pigmentosa Foundation. In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine cited four Wonder albums in their list of the 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time, including Innervisions (#23) and Songs In The Key Of Life (#56).
As Wonder gets ready to add another album to his legacy, he muses about the mystery of creativity in a world hungering for a message.

They balanced Bonnaroo's neo-hippie aura with attention to the present. Wonder married fellow Motown artist Syreeta on 14 September 1970; he premiered many of his new production techniques on Syreeta (1972) and Stevie Wonder Presents Syreeta (1974), for which he also wrote most of the material. Conversation Peace in 1995 was an average album with no outstanding songs, but our expectation of Wonder is different to that of most other artists.

He's been a one-man hit factory, scoring chart singles in each of five decades, including number one hits "Superstition," "You Are the Sunshine of My Life," "I Wish," "Sir Duke" and "I Just Called to Say I Love You," and winning 25 Grammy Awards, including one for Lifetime Achievement.
When he turned 21, Wonder became one of Motown's first artists to take creative control over his career, which led to celebrated albums like Talking Book, Innervisions, and Songs in the Key of Life.
His contribution to worldwide social and political change is just as impressive, with Wonder championing the effort to make Martin Luther King's birthday a national holiday, as well as becoming a driving force behind 1985's USA For Africa campaign.
Honored at the 22nd Kennedy Center Honors in 1999, President Clinton remarked: "In so many ways (Wonder) has helped to compose the remaining passages of Dr.
King's legacy." But it is Wonder's songwriting legacy that has inexorably connected him to the world. Later that year, Wonder was seriously injured in a car accident; his subsequent work was tinged with the awareness of mortality, fired by his spiritual beliefs. Jazz is a vital part of ...
