The emphasis on experiences of love, beauty and truth is not to deny that states of mind other than these can be good, but only that these are the best and most important states of mind. Moore believed the goodness of such experience to be a matter of common sense to anyone who gave it any thought:

In interviews, Skandar has expressed that he identifies as an atheist, stating that he does not adhere to any religion or belief system.

As a workaround, parts of his dialogue were re-recorded by his sister, Soumaya, whose voice closely resembled his at the time. His father, Randal Keynes, is a noted author and conservationist, while his mother, Zelfa Hourani, comes from a prominent Middle Eastern family. However, he has since retired from acting to pursue a career in politics.
