    Early Life and Education

    Mitchell was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, where his grandfather and later his father served as pastors. This opportunity led to international touring and a recording credit on Garrett’s album Simply Said.

    Following this, Mitchell collaborated with several jazz luminaries including Dee Dee Bridgewater, Christian McBride, Terence Blanchard, Antonio Hart, Johnny Griffin, and Dianne Reeves.

    Mitchell has performed and recorded with legendary artists such as Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Maxwell, and Jay-Z.
