Due to his position on the Appropriations Committee, Rep.
Muñoz was able to help secure significant restoration of the public education budget and provide funding for major policy changes to our transportation infrastructure and water resources planning and budget during the 83rd Legislative Session.
Muñoz was also appointed to the Select Committee on Transportation Funding during the 3rd Called Session of the 83rd Legislature; the committee successfully created a consensus funding solution for the state's aging transportation infrastructure by developing a funding mechanism that allocates significant revenue without increases in taxes or fees.
During the 2011-2012 interim, Rep.
Muñoz was appointed by Speaker Straus to the Interim Committee on Manufacturing, the Joint Interim Committee to Study Human Trafficking, and the National Conference of State Legislatures 2012 Symposium for Emerging Leaders.
