He grew up listening to country music and idolized the “big stars who lived … hard lives”, like Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard. In 2003, Thomas established the Sidewalk Angels Foundation, whose mission is to “combine music and charity to provide help and raise awareness for those in need.” Since its establishment, the foundation has raised over $1 million for various charities that provide medical assistance for animals, support for food banks, and help for at-risk children.

Just recently, Rob Thomas and his band Matchbox Twenty announced that they have chosen RADical Hope as a charitable partner for their first-ever non-fungible token (NFT) auction.

You may know Rob Thomas as the face of Matchbox Twenty or as one of the songwriters behind one of Santana’s greatest hits (“Smooth”), but there’s so much more to this talented artist. All along, there would be no choice but to work with longtime friend Butch Walker behind-the-board as producer. Lead singer of Matchbox Twenty who won a Grammy Award for Song of the Year for “Smooth,” which features vocals from Santana.
