He was marrie to Margaret Alma I. S. Wiggins. The Prospect premises were to serve him until the early 1950s, when he opened a separate showroom for his wares. For months he trekked through the deserts and ranges of Central Australia as the camel-man of a two-man expedition. I cannot begin to describe the fascination of this book.

M. Williams AO CMG
RM (Reginald Murray) Williams AO CBE (1908-2003), saddlery, boot and clothing manufacturer, miner and author, moved to Adelaide from his birthplace near the Flinders Rangers when he was 10. The mail-order business made him wealthy and positioned him as a household name throughout the bush.Always restless and enterprising, R.M has never been content to just be a businessman.
At 15 he left his family to build a stone water tank in the desert before becoming a camelboy for the missionary William Wade. Born in Liverpool in 1904, he beganworking on the steamengines of the railway as a boy, doing the dirty jobs of cleaning out the ashes and the boilers on the engines. From gold mining in the Northern Territory to tea planting in the New Guinea Highlands, publishing poetry and establishing the Stockman's Hall of Fame, R.M Williams has earned his place as a hero of the Australian bush.'...
There were no children of the marriage. Soon bushmen from all over Australia were sending 'cash with order' for R.M's classic elastic-sided boots and other products.
