When in 1992 a large part of the band broke with Viva la Musica due to dissatisfaction with Wemba's leadership - and formed the Nouvelle Generation de la Republique Democratique - Reddy Amisi remained faithful to Wemba. Papa Wemba turned Nouvelle Ecriture into Viva La Musica Nouvelle Ecriture in 1996 after resettling in Kinshasa. At some point (in 1994), he created his own band (with which he recorded the CD « Prudence »), but Papa Wemba was not happy with this initiative, and he took over the band and renamed it into Nouvelle Ecriture.
Reddy Amisi stayed with Viva la Musica until 2002, when he created his own band Casa do Canto.
He was still technically part of the Viva La Musica, and benefitted from Papa Wemba’s support too.

After the death of Papa Wemba in 2017, there was some speculation in the Congolese media about a possible merger between La casa do Canto and Viva la Musica in order to immortalize the famous Papa Wemba.
Reddy stayed at Viva from 1982 to approximately 2001. Since the chances are very thin he could have been born on both days, we will check and update this page accordingly.
In 1982, Papa Wembas’s Viva La Musica suffered from a scission from Emeneya and a couple of other members who went to create Victoria Eleison. Meanwhile, Reddy and the France team self-rebranded themselves.
Reddy managed to find his own path and create his own music style even while in Viva. His fans are looking forward to it !
On 30 September 2022, it was finally here. In 1987, Papa Wemba permanently moved Viva La Musica to Paris, France. Reddy is one of the few Zaireans included in Wemba's international lineup. In 1990 his second solo album "Queen Lina" appeared, again backed by Viva la Musica.
Of course, things did not happen in such a straightforward way, but we hope to have captured the essence of the story. He contributed with songs like Kotida in 1983 and Lize Paradis in 1985.
His real name Namwisi Ngoy, alias Reddy Amisi said Bailo Canto, was born May 5, 1960 in Kinshasa in a family of eight children.
This was accentuated by the arrival of a challenging Nouvelle Ecriture band and the ambiguities it brought. That was the birth of Nouvelle Ecriture accompanying band. Congolese music lovers received them very positively. A first album came out early 2003.
