I am committed to devote all possible energies to strengthen our cooperation and with great pleasure will continue my cooperation with the National Research University “MPEI” in my new status”, Rae Kwon Chung commented.

Rae Kwon Chung promotes the concept of low-carbon green growth as a new paradigm assuming economic development of countries and creation of new jobs simultaneously counteracting climate change.

The concept is based on proliferation of generally accessible technologies including by way of mandatory licensing and transfer of technologies owned by governments.

In 2007, as a member of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Rae Kwon Chung received the Nobel Peace Prize for the efforts of the Panel to accumulate and disseminate knowledge about human-induced climate change and development of measures required to counteract such change.

“In 2020, the MPEI Department of innovation technologies of knowledge-intensive industries proposed to give Mr.

Rae Kwon Chung the title of the Honorary Doctor of Moscow Power Engineering Institute for his big contribution to science, to developing the renewable energy and energy-saving technologies. He studied at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. and graduated with MA for Foreign Service. He is also Study Leader for the G8+5 commissioned report on “The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity” (“TEEB”).
