Mimouni studied commercial sciences before teaching at the Graduate School of Business (Ecole Supérieure de Commerce) in Algiers.
Despite excelling in his profession, literature was his preferred field. The Malédiction is ignorance, vengeance, and discord.

Rachid Mimouni died at the age of 49 of hepatitis in his hospital room on February 12, 1995 in Paris.
A renowned author with an enlightened and visionary outlook, a defender of freedom of expression and conscience, he fought with his pen against all forms of oppression. He addresses the corruption and anarchy of the Algerian political system after independence, the betrayal of the revolution and of its true heroes, the bureaucracy and the abuse of power. Without taboo, he strongly denounces zoophilia, gang rape, and the evils of a diseased society.
