Mark Read is a singer/songwriter best known as a member of the British-Norwegian band A1, but his experience as a musician and performer goes way back to his childhood, growing up in a very musical family.

Paul Marazzi was the first member to join the British-Norwegian boy band A1 in 1998, selected through an open audition process as the group's oldest founding participant at age 23.[1] He was soon joined by Mark Read, Ben Adams, and Christian Ingebrigtsen, completing the original lineup under manager Tim Byrne.In 2000, they achieved their two number one singles in the UK; a cover of a-ha’s 1985 single “Take On Me” and “Same Old Brand New You”.
After they released their third album "Make It Goodimg", Paul Marazzi left the band for personal reasons and the group subsequently split.
In August 2009, it was announced that a1 had reunited (without Paul) for a series of reunion shows in Norway to celebrate their ten-year anniversary.
Their first single after the hiatus, Take You Home, was released in November 2009 and is the official single for Norwegian Red Nose Day 2009 and is a charity song for Save The Children.
a1 participated in the Norwegian finals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song Don't Wanna Lose You Again, written by Ben Adams, Mark Read, Christian Ingebrigtsen and David Eriksen, and took 2.place in the national final.

Following the successful completion of the 2025 Valentine's Tour, A1 continued with performances including dates in Oslo and Dubai later in 2025.[28][29][30][31]In July 2024, A1 expressed interest in representing the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, stating they had a "perfect" song ready for submission, though they were not selected.[6][32] Marazzi continues to contribute to the group as a vocalist and performer, while the band teases upcoming new music to complement their live performances.[33][34]

Paul Marazzi has been married to Nathalie Marazzi since May 2023, following a relationship that spanned more than a decade.The English foursome A1 wanted to be a part of that world and for three years, Ben Adams, Christian Ingebrigtsen, Mark Read, and Paul Marazzi had hopes of becoming one of Britain's biggest stars. At that point, his family relocated to Hertfordshire, providing a suburban environment that contrasted with the urban setting of his initial years.
