Astin has been very reticent to talk about his professional life, so I hoped that there would be some details here. Consequently, people easily took advantage of her, especially when it involved her finances.
One of the things that initially attracted me to the book was knowing that she was married to John Astin, an actor whose work I have particularly enjoyed through the years.
It is a candid and inspiring story of survival, recovery, and transformation. yet, they also put her personality in “check,” robbing her of a huge percentage of childhood experiences (in addition to most of her financial earnings).
