In 1971, he met Faramarz Payvar and followed the learning of santour and vocal rows. He also performs with his daughter Mozhgan Shajarian.
In 2008, he toured the world with the Ava Ensemble, composed of his son Homayoun (tombak and vocals), Hossein Behroozinia (barbat), Majid Derakhshani (tar), Hossain Rezaeenia (daf), and Saeed Farajpouri (kamanche).
In 2012, he toured with the Shahnaz Ensemble with his daughter Mojgan Shajarian and other band members.
Seeing his son as a renowned successful singer, his father approved his art and Shajarian continued his work under his real name.

His deep passion and great proficiency in every aspect of traditional and folk Iranian music made Shajarian an iconic musician.
The Bita award is founded by the Iranian Studies division of Stanford University and has received this award in the first year, Simin Behbahani, Iranian contemporary writer, and author. Since then, Mohammadreza Shajarian has been working with this group. Master Shajarian, from then on, was at home to research and compilation vocal rows and to educate his old disciples Gmasht.
Since then his career has included teaching at Tehran University's Department of Fine Arts, working at National Radio and Television, researching Iranian music, and making numerous recordings.
Music bands

The National Merit, in formal ritual, the second night of June 2014, was donated to Shajarian in the French embassy in Tehran, in accordance with 23 June 2014. Known as an awe-inspiring artist of all time, Mohamad Reza Shajarian is the incomparable maestro of Persian folk and classical music. Calligraphy
In addition to reading his voice, Mohammadreza Shajarian has a great interest in Iranian calligraphy.
After Shajarian concert in Vancouver, The Globe has introduced the desire, Shajarian and the myth of the eastern music.
He founded a music ensemble in 2008, and called the Shahnaz Ensemble in honor of Jalil Shahnaz (tar musician). In the year 1972, he became familiar with Nurkhan Boroumand, and taught the vocal style of Seyed Hossein Taherzadeh.
