This program was the perfect way to celebrate Italian-American Heritage Month.

TRUE TALES OF NEW ENGLAND
Historical stories of bravery, foolishness, love, and a touch of the supernatural.

I heard good things about her presentation from those in attendance at the luncheon.

I am thrilled that she was able to share her "storytelling" with all in attendance.

Maureen Martin, Toquam Magnet School

Your magnificent performance captured the life of Mary, a very young immigrant to the U.S. from Ireland during the time of the Potato Famine.

The history, humor, and magic of Ireland comes to life. Afterwards, my son got in the car and retold the tales! Peterson will tell the stories of Sybil Ludington, the Revolutionary War teenager who rode á la Paul Revere to warn of the British invasion of Danbury, Margaret Lamberton, wife of “Ghost Ship” captain George Lamberton, who was immortalized by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and Hannah Handy, who rescued her son and other young children during the Revolutionary War.

A popular entertainer, Ms.

Peterson has performed at the JFK Presidential Library, The Children’s Museum of the Arts in Manhattan, New Britain’s Museum of American Art, Connecticut DEEP Great Park Pursuit, the Connecticut Storytelling Festival, Tellebration, and at festivals, museums, libraries, and schools throughout the area.

Rachel Taylor, Scranton Memorial Library

We hosted Monica on 10/19/22 for her program "An Evening with My Grandparents" and she was fantastic! The children found the performance fun and thought provoking and hands were raised with a whirlwind of new thoughts, connections and questions about the characters that Monica introduced them to today.

It’s a great program for libraries at any time of year! Learn more about Monica's services for adults and children below.

Bryanna Mead Parent Liaison at F.J Kingsbury Elementary

At a March Into Literacy Month event Monica Peterson dazzled students with Celtic and American period attire, an array of accents, a variety of voices, and fun audience interaction with quite an interesting collection of characters from Celtic folklore - leprechauns, fairies & giants.

Stories include:

  • "Sybil Ludington" - an account of the burning of Danbury during the Revolutionary War and how a teenage girl's midnight ride to warn the country side that the British were coming to attack, resulted in an American victory at Ridgefield, Connecticut.

  • "An Army of Two" - two young sisters save their New England town from the British Navy during the War of 1812.

LEPRECHAUNS AND GIANTS
Perfect for St.

Patrick's Day or teacher's retirement dinner. Our students certainly gained new perspective on how fun stories can be. She captured the attention of all ages from Kindergarten to Grade Five AND even their parents. Her performance was an engaging connection to literature; full of fun props and acting that made the stories come to life. We would definitely invite her back again!

Burlington Seniors

I am writing to express our complete enjoyment during the Tales of New England presentation you did for our seniors.  They are still commentating about it , describing it in detail, and wishing it were longer.  An over all great performance.

Jessica Gueniat, Director, Torrington Library

Patrons at the Torrington Library thoroughly enjoyed Monica’s presentation of “Tales of New England”.
