Amid the backlash, a source close to Harry and Meghan hit back at the critics, defending the Sussexes' use of their titles in a statement to the Daily Mail.
The source told the news outlet, "Prince Harry and Meghan are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The message on the site reads, "This site was established in 2020 and sets out the work streams of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex prior to their move to the United States."

Why Meghan Markle's Crest Was Used Instead of A Joint Crest With Prince Harry
It's an odd choice that the couple chose to use Meghan's coat of arms instead of Harry's or a couple's combined version.

Using the Spencer sign marked a change in convention for ruling crests, which traditionally did not use symbols from the mother's side of the family.
The Spencers are reflected by small, red escallops which appear on the white collars worn by the lions, unicorn, and shield.
At the time, Peter Gwynn-Jones, Garter of Arms to the Queen, explained: "After changing convention for Prince William by using symbols from his maternal Arms, it made sense to develop this further for Prince Harry.
