In 1996, she recorded a ballad album in Spanish with Roxette and a new solo album I en tid som vår (In a Time Like Ours). You’ll love this. This was one of very few public appearances she made during her illness. This was only the second Roxette performance since the cancer treatment. The album "Look Sharp!" sold 8 million copies worldwide.
Continued Success
In 1990, the slightly modified version of "It Must Have Been Love" became Roxette's third hit.
After the successful concerts, the band announced the first full Roxette World tour in 15 years which began in March 2011. In 1989, their song "The Look" reached the top of the charts in the US and 24 other countries. Marie Fredriksson – Listen to My Heart – now released in English

In 1988, they released their second album, "Look Sharp!", which became a triumph in their homeland and later in the United States. She continued as both a solo singer and with Roxette, where she performed over 550 concerts to millions of fans, sold 75 million records, and released over 50 singles including several global hits. In all, Roxette is Sweden’s biggest music group – second only to ABBA.

In 1978, Marie sang and played the piano in the band "Strul", while Per sang, wrote songs, and played the guitar in the band "Gyllene Tider". What then? Marie, who was also performing and writing songs, collaborated with Per in 1985. “It was a crisis, with hellish side effects. She released all her albums in a box set, Kärlekens Guld (Love’s Gold), which featured previously unreleased songs as well as new packaging.
On 11 September 2002, Fredriksson fainted in her bathroom, hitting her head and receiving a concussion.
She had difficulties reading, writing and counting for a period of time, and is now nearly blind in her right eye.
In January 2003, Roxette were awarded the ‘Royal Medal with Blue Ribbon’ by King of Sweden Carl Gustaf XVI. The ceremony was the first event at which Fredriksson appeared after her operation. Johansson formed a duo with them using Marie's songs.
Formation of Roxette
In 1986, Per and Marie fulfilled their long-standing dream of working together and recorded the single "Neverending Love" under the name Roxette.
All while trying to maintain a strong marriage and be a mother to two young children in the face of a life-altering illness.
A book foreword was penned by acclaimed director Jonas Åkerlund, Marie’s longtime friend and colleague. They became engaged; Fredriksson gave birth to a daughter Inez Josefin on 29 April 1993, and married Bolyos in May 1994.
A new Roxette single “She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio)” was released in January 2011, and the new Roxette album Charm School was released on 11 February 2011.
