Madonna's mother died of breast cancer at age 30 on December 1, 1963. Her father Sylvio, also known as Tony, was a design engineer for Chrysler/General Dynamics. The deal consists of all future music and music-related businesses including albums, concert tours, merchandising, fan club/web site, DVDs, music-related television and film projects, and associated sponsorship agreements.
Madonna's soundtrack album I'm Breathless: Music From and Inspired by the Film Dick Tracy resulted in two Top 10 hits: “Vogue” and “Hanky Panky.” She also released four more hit albums: True Blue (1986), Who's that Girl (1987), You Can Dance (1987) and Like a Prayer (1989).

Controversies
As always, Madonna mixed her drive for success with her penchant for scandalous behavior.
Madonna was only five years old at the time of her mother's death. How could I be anything else but what I am having been named Madonna? The film introduced the dance song "Into the Groove", which was released as the B-side of the U.S. 12" single "Angel", and became an international hit, her first number one in the UK.
Madonna embarked on her first concert tour in the U.S.
in 1985 titled The Virgin Tour, with opening act The Beastie Boys.
In July 1985, Penthouse and Playboy magazines published a number of black and white nude photos of Madonna taken in the late 70s. Madonna received a dance scholarship to the University of Michigan after graduating from high school.
After being convinced by her ballet teacher, she left the University of Michigan at the end of her sophomore year, in 1977, and moved to New York City to pursue a dance career.
She had little money and for some time lived in squalor, working low-paying jobs including a stint at Dunkin' Donuts.
In 2002, Madonna starred in the film Swept Away. “It's a beautiful and positive judgment,” Alan Chinula told reporters. She graduated early from high school and was awarded a dance scholarship to the University of Michigan. At the time, she was inspired by R&B/rock singer Joi's debut album Pendulum Vibe, and was so in love with it that she recruited producer Dallas Austin to help with her project.
She put on an impressive show, however, which featured her latest single “Give Me All Your Luvin'.” This time around, it wasn't Madonna who created waves during the show.
The album Madonna was released in July 1983. By the end of 1993, the album had reached double-platinum status.
In 2017, Madonna attempted to legally halt the auction of several of her personal items, then in the possession of ex-personal assistant Darlene Lutz.
