Early life and family
Llandel Veguilla Malavé was born on January 14, 1977, in Cayey, Puerto Rico, the son of Julio Veguilla and Lucy Malavé.
Their accolades include 10 Billboard Latin Music Awards, 2 Latin Grammy Awards, and an MTV Video Music Award.
Yandel’s solo debut album, Quien Contra Mi, was released in September 2003. His fourth album, Update, was released in September 2017. The duo’s fifth album, Pa’l Mundo, was released in November 2005 by Machete Music.
Pa'l Mundo then catapulted them to mainstream success in 2005. ‘Encantadora’ won 2 Latin Grammy Awards, including one for the best urban song. The duo Wisin & Yandel is worth around $40 million as a group. They currently have a 2010 Grammy nomination for Best Latin Urban, Alternative or Rock Album, as well as five Premios Lo Nuestro Nominations.
