Leon Keer is a Dutch popular-surrealist artist.
lieutenant was painted at the 2011 international Sarasota Chalk Festival.
At 2010 festival in Sarasota he made a surreal street painting with Little red riding hood and Alice in Wonderland together, fighting against evil as main characters in the image. His illusions deceive the eye but speak straight to the soul.
It belongs to that moment, to that street, to those people who paused to see it.
And it is this very transience that gives his art its power.
