Abraham Lincoln, born February 12, 1809, was the 16th President of the United States.
The couple added yet another son to their family two years later. She moved like a force of nature directing the kitchen team and plating with speed and precision. All in all, Abe had only about 12 months' worth of formal instruction growing up. She said she believed that their departure would allow Abe to give his full attention to his work, although her husband disagreed.
He and his family moved to Washington D.C. in 1847. In Hurricane Township, Thomas managed to recoup his losses in Kentucky and acquired 80 acres of land where he founded the Little Pigeon Creek community. The cause of death was likely typhoid fever. Chef Wong joined Hawaiian Airlines as a guest chef in 2016 and was named Executive Chef for the airline in March of 2018, leading the culinary program and menus for both domestic and international flights.
In March of 2019, Wong moved to Maui with her partner and one year old son.
The following year, Mary took their sons and left Washington, returning to their home in Springfield.
Chef Wong is comfortable using her full culinary tool kit when creating a dish or building a menu.
She met numerous Boise chefs at Street Eats and managed to visit quite a few. It took her over ten days to locate everyone on her team. Soon thereafter, Abe won a seat in the United States Congress as a representative for Illinois.
“This is my first time in Idaho,” she said, “so I’m bringing you all a taste of Hawaii!” The crowd applauded and dug into her saimin salad, a riff on the popular Hawaiian noodle dish, elevated with Kurobuta pork and a carefully prepared 63c egg. “I did everything, from casting to securing sponsorships. Wong released her first cookbook, Dumplings All Day Wong, in August 2014.
In August of 2023, Papa’aina perished in the Maui fires.
