Business career
Kohler began working at Kohler Co. during high school, holding summer jobs.[1] Since returning in 1995, she served as Vice President of Communications and then Vice President of Human Resources in 1999.

Laura Kohler was born on February 14, 1962, to Herbert Kohler, Jr. and Linda Kohler (née Karger).

Kohler married Stephen Cheavens Proudman, and they have three children. Laura has also managed the Arts/Industry program for over three decades, which has hosted over 500 artists from more than 25 countries.
In January 2023, Laura was appointed Kohler’s first Chief Sustainability and DEI Officer.
The bank has grown through both acquisitions and branch expansion. In this role, Laura expanded the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability, social impact and DE&I by implementing more aggressive initiatives to achieve its net zero 2035 goals, accelerating innovation to provide a broader range of products that help people reduce their impact on the environment, and increasing advocacy to address water conservation and improved access to safe water and sanitation.

MANITOWOC – Laura Kohler is stepping down from her seat on the Bank First Corporation Board of Directors.
The Manitowoc-based bank announced Kohler’s retirement from the role in a news release following its annual shareholder meeting June 16.

deep passion for employee engagement and well-being. Drawing on her expertise in human resources, talent management and organizational culture, she supported succession planning initiatives and helped shape Bank First’s leadership development efforts.”

Laura is responsible for
integrating environmental sustainability across manufacturing, product development, and
hospitality at Kohler.

Uncompromising Design,” focusing on equitable access to clean water and creating sustainable
water solutions.
Laura Kohler always understood how critical employee engagement and well-being was to the growth and sustainment of the company and spent much of her career maintaining these beliefs as evidenced by her nearly two-decade tenure as the head of human resources.
