Had she been alive today, I am sure she would have lived the moment. While being on a quest to seek justice for her husband, she supported both her daughters’ education.

In between her routine travel from her home in Uttar Pradesh to Supreme Court in Delhi, Kinjal studied really hard. Uttar Pradesh’s IAS Kinjal Singh led a life of hardships, but despite everything, she conquered over all the difficulties and established her victory.

This year she was appointed as DG of Medical Education Department, Uttar Pradesh.

She along with her sister are inspiration for numerous girls who want to make it big amid adversity.

They began to sincerely focus their efforts on preparing for the UPSC exam.

But, then life took another ugly turn. In the year 2008, all the woes of life disappeared when Kinjal became an IAS officer in the year 2008. Singh was pronounced dead on reaching the hospital. Vibha Singh underwent several rounds of chemotherapy, but her condition only worsened.

It was quite inspiring how their strong determination shook the entire justice system and eventually they got justice.

In 2013, after 31 years of their struggle, the CBI special court in Lucknow penalized all the 18 perpetrators behind their father DSP Singh’s murder.

The first motive to become  an IAS officer is to get justice for her father’s death.

Kinjal Singh Early Life and Career

Kinjal Singh was born on 5 January 1982 in Gorakhpur, Haryana, India. Their unflinching determination moved the entire justice system, and eventually led to a judgement in their favour. At the time, Kinjal Singh was already working in her service as an DM in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh.

She is a dynamic officer of  Faziabad district in Uttar Pradesh and she was fondly known as “Firebrand IAS“. And, the news almost devastated the daughters, who had already lost their father.

Kinjal, while talking to Times of India about her parents, said,

I am proud of my father who was an honest officer and my mother who proved to be a strong single parent and a stronger widow who stood up against the injustice done to her husband.

On getting justice for her father, Kinjal told Times of India,

I was barely two and a half-months old when my father was murdered.

Convicting the murderers after 30 years

Kinjal Singh’s mother Vibha Singh struggled to seek justice for her husband for decades. Here is a tale of perseverance and determination and a daughter’s will to honour her parents with her success. After her graduation, she also brought along her younger sister, Pranjal Singh, to Delhi.

Her mother took a promise from Kinjal on her death bed that she would continue fighting for her father. I have no memories of him. I have no memories of him. Her family is now residing in Uttar Pradesh, India. Pranjal too cleared it with 252nd rank, and is an IRS officer now.

They then decided to aid their lifelong quest to get justice for their father and get the culprits behind his murder arrested.
