Honda, Keiko was born on March 30, 1968 in Kumamoto, Japan. in International Community Health (NYU) and a career as a cancer epidemiologist at Columbia University, took an unexpected turn at age 40, when a diagnosis of a rare autoimmune disease resulted in her lifelong use of a wheelchair.

Keiko Honda’s journey, shaped by a Ph.D. Ms. Honda began her career at Bain & Company Japan in 1984. She served as an Adjunct Professor and Adjunct Senior Research Scholar on sustainable investing at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs between 2020 and 2024.

Daughter of Goro and Yoko (Masuda) Honda. She is also the author of The Broken Map Home (Caitlin Press, 2025). This led to the founding of the Vancouver Arts Colloquium Society (VACS), where she cultivates intergenerational connections and empowers marginalized voices through artistic expression. Keiko resides in Vancouver, BC, where she finds joy in watercolour painting and her beloved salons.

    Ms. Honda was appointed Executive Vice President in 2013, and served as CEO and Executive Vice President of Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency of the World Bank Group from 2014 to 2019.     Ms. Honda became the first female senior partner in the Asian division, where she advised on corporate strategy and M&A for 24 years since 1989.
