“That’s the way it goes in this business,” said Bulifant. In addition, she and her fifth husband, Roger Perry, received a 'Golden Palm Star' on the Walk of Stars in Palm Springs, California, in 2014.
In 2017, she published her memoir, 'My Four Hollywood Husbands,' which chronicles the alcoholism of four of her husbands and her rehabilitation from codependent relationships.
Subsequently, in the 1970s and the 1980s, Bulifant appeared in several notable TV shows. It was a great comedy. Bulifant then married her fourth husband, Glade Bruce Hansen, for a short time in 2000, but the couple split in 2001. Joyce’s memoir, MY FOUR HOLLYWOOD HUSBANDS, is available through Amazon.com. In 1961, she appeared as Jessica in the episode 'Fraud' of Tales of Wells Fargo.
She had two children, Mary MacArthur and Charles MacArthur, with her first husband, James MacArthur (2 November 1958-1967).

Concentrating on TV work, Bulifant only appeared in about a dozen films. Despite some missed career opportunities and the marital challenges, she has always remained optimistic.
“When you’re in the entertainment business, you have to deal with disappointment and rejection so if you don’t feel strong and confident about yourself it can be very disheartening,” she says.
She even appeared briefly in the classic 1980 comedy “Airplane!” as the mother of the sick little girl with the intravenous drip.
“I didn’t want to do that dadgum movie, I thought it was so silly,” she recalled. They showed the thing and everybody just laughed and laughed. The pair were married until the death of Perry on 12 July 2018. Provided by publicist
“It was never my intention to marry famous Hollywood men, it just happened that way,” said Bulifant from Los Angeles.

Bulifant has had five marriages. “He wanted to get better, so that’s why this marriage worked,” she said.
Career-wise, Bulifant has been successful on stage as well as in film and television, and was a frequent game show panelist in the 70s and 80s.
