The news today was announced at the BFI’s final Film Forever Roadshow at BFI Southbank in London.
Electric Shadows will include Feng Xiaogang [pictured] visiting the BFI in February, including a gala screening of Back to 1942 with an on-stage interview with Feng on Feb 21. The Studio also revealed that its new Tarzanaction adventure started shooting in the UK today and will film at Warner Bros.Studios Leavesden and on location.
The announcements were made ahead of a reception celebrating the Creative Industries, hosted by Pm David Cameron at No10 Downing Street and attended by Kevin Tsujihara, CEO, Warner Bros.and Josh Berger, President and Managing Director, Warner Bros.UK.
The expansion of Warner Bros.Studios Leavesden will see the construction of three new sound stages comprising one 35,000 square-foot and two 17,000 square foot buildings, with 20,000 square feet of adjacent office space.

Screen launches Creative Week events
Creative Week will kick off on June 2 in London and comprise The Media Summit, the Broadcast International TV Forum, HD Evolved and The VFX Summit, as well as a number of breakfast events, roundtable seminars, film screenings, drinks parties and a gala reception.
The events will be run in association with sister titles Broadcast and shots.
The week is designed to discuss the changes in the way people consume, create and distribute content via a number of high-level case studies, keynote speeches and provocative panel sessions.
The Media Summit, a flagship one-day event that will bring together the leaders of the UK’s biggest media companies, will be held at BAFTA on Wednesday June 4.

BFI plans year of UK-China activities
The BFI is unveiling a year-long special collaboration between the UK and China, which will include business, trade, creative and cultural initiatives.
This news comes as a UK-China Co-Production Treaty is being finalised.
The BFI, which will bring its Chinese activities together under the banner Electric Shadows, is working alongside a range of key partners including the British Council, Dcms, Ukti and the Great Britain Campaign.
China is a key priority in the BFI’s International Strategy.
U.K. became a production powerhouse, supporting hit franchises like Harry Potter and spearheading the development of Warner Bros. The Harry Potter Global Franchise Development team will be based in London and Burbank, and will help foster the studio’s expanded creative partnership with Rowling. Set in the wizarding world, the story will feature magical creatures and characters, some of which will be familiar to devoted Harry Potter fans.

BFI to host National Archive fundraising gala
The BFI is to host a gala aimed at raising funds for its National Archive collection.
Hosted by Jonathan Ross, the inaugural Luminous gala, will take place on Ocotber 8, with a raft of industry heavyweights expected to attend.

The news comes as production kicks off at the studio on action-adventure Tarzanfrom director David Yatesand starring Alexander Skarsgard, Margot Robbie, Samuel L Jackson, Christoph Waltz.
The film will join Warner Bros.’ Pan, directed by Joe Wright, which has been filming at the studios and on location since April.
