The Idea behind Burger King
While working in the business industry, McLamore visited a McDonald's restaurant and realized that there were many improvements that could be made to enhance the overall functioning of the chain.
Together with his friend David Edgerton, also a Cornell graduate, McLamore became the owner of the fast food franchise known as Burger King.
The Evolution of Burger King
The first Burger King restaurant, called "Insta Burger King," was independently opened by Edgerton on March 1, 1954 in Miami, Florida. Throughout its history, the chain has changed owners multiple times.
