Palo Alto – Acting Beginnings
In the early-2010s, Gia approached Jack with a script for “Palo Alto”, an intended film adaptation of the book of the same name written by James Franco, which tells the story of teenagers living in Palo Alto, inspired by Franco’s own experiences as a teenager.
Gia was planning to direct the film, and while working on it together, Jack was encouraged to audition for one of the main roles.
However, he got the acting bug after the project, and decided to pursue it full-time.
Two years later, he was cast in the film “The Stanford Prison Experiment”, which is based on the real-life experiment of the same name conducted at Stanford University during the 1970s.
Continued Acting Work – Lords of Chaos
Jack was then cast in the independent film “Len and Company”, in which he worked alongside Juno Temple, Kathryn Hahn and Rhys Ifans.
During his free time, he enjoys playing sports and is an avid skateboarder. It follows the life of fictional author and moviemaker Eric Jonrosh and the mini-series was nominated for three awards.

Jack was raised in Los Angeles alongside his sister Mercedes Kilmer, by their American father Val Edward Kilmer who’s a famous American actor, and British mother Joanne Whalley who’s also an actress.
Jack studied at The Center for Early Education, and was six when he met future famous American screenwriter and film director Gian-Carla ‘Gia’ Coppola, who was 14 at that time.

Jack also appeared in a music video for Ozzy Osbourne’s “Under the Graveyard”, and is currently working on a film called “Body Brokers”, which stars Jessica Rothe and Frank Grillo. Some of Jack’s most recent film roles have been in the 2021 short comedy “Hardcore Halbert”, the 2023 action crime thriller “Detective Knight: Independence” and the 2023 western “Dead Man’s Hand”.

Early Life & Background
Jack Kilmer was born to actors Val Kilmer and Joanne Whalley in Los Angeles.
He was accepted and cast as Teddy, leading his father to become involved as a part of the cast as well – the film starred James Franco, Emma Roberts, and Zoe Levin.
The following year, he worked on “The Nice Guys” appearing as the character Chet in the film which starred Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, telling the story of two men who team up to look for a missing girl during the late 1970s. He also worked on “Summer ‘03”, which starred him alongside Joey King and Andrea Savage. Afterwards, he was in “The Pretenders”, another James Franco film starring Kilmer alongside Jane Levy and Shameik Moore.
In 2018, he portrayed Pelle ‘Dead’ Ohlin in the biographical horror “Lords of Chaos”, which starred Rory Culkin and Emory Cohen, and was directed by Jonas Akerlund.
