The Early Years Parvaz Homay’s journey into the world of music began in Gilan, a province located in the north-western part of Iran, bordering the Caspian Sea. It was here that he was born and where his early influences and passion for the arts took root.
Media representatives are encouraged to share the message of these talented artists who have had to overcome many obstacles in pursuit of their passion and whose travel to the United States has been made possible by the generous supporters of Persian traditions and music.
Throughout their world tours over the past three years, Homay and the Mastan Ensemble have performed at some of the most renowned stages, including Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Lincoln Center in New York City, Strathmore in Washington, D.C.
and Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, Canada and continue to be invited back to these concert halls.
Parvaz Homay, founder of Homay and the Mastan Ensemble, always strives to push the bar higher by bringing innovation to his music and showcases classical Persian music on the global music scene to help gain the recognition this musical tradition deserves.
His studies were conducted under supervision of professors such as Dr. Ali Gholi Bakhtiari-Tayari and Mr. Ali-Akbar Kanni.
Homay learned Gilaki folk music with Mr. Fereydoun Pour-Reza and Persian classical music (radif) with Maestros Kamal-Din Abbas, Hengameh Akhvan and Karim Saleh Azimi.
At the age of 30 he decided to study Italian Opera.
They achieve this by refreshing the traditional and folkloric music and introducing a groundbreaking interpretation of classical Persian music and poetry.
Following the paths of the greatest Sufi masters Rumi and Hafez, The Mastan Group encourages its audiences to live consciously. Rhythmic, uplifting and mesmerizing, The Mastan Ensemble plays traditional Persian music in a way that has never been heard before.

His ensemble consists of eight virtuoso Iranian musicians. As such, his fans travel outside the country to attend his performances.
Parvaz has performed several mixed performances of Persian music in conjunction with symphony orchestras in operatic format in Belgium, Los Angeles and Toronto. Their first U.S. performance was a sold-out concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall on July 3, 2008, followed by other successful performances in the U.S., Canada and Europe.
His parents, who recognized his potential, encouraged his artistic pursuits.

Introduction
At the intersection of art and enigma, Parvaz Homay, a virtuoso in Persian classical music, emerges as a captivating figure.
Before kicking off their world tour in 2010, Parvaz Homay traveled to various parts of the world seeking inspiration for his new compositions, a number of which he will be performing with the Ensemble on the tour. To learn the discipline, he traveled to Italy and Canada to study under two operatic masters - Mr. Daniel Ebi (Toronto) and Mr.
Delfo Menicucci (Viargu, Italy).
Homay & the Mastan Ensemble enjoyed success after the release of their album entitled "Molaghaat Ba Doozakhian," or "Meeting with Sinners among the Flames", which was written, composed, and sung by Homay.
Homay & the Mastan Ensemble released "In Che Jahanist?" ("Questions for Our World,” “What sort of World is This?") in 2007, an album that examining the relationship between human beings and the reality that they create.
His performances have been held at notable and sizable venues across the globe, including but not limited to Los Angeles' Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Lincoln Center in New York, Strathmore Hall in the Washington D.C.
area, and Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto, Canada.
Over the past several years, Homay has been working on an international project entitled "Saving Our Planet Earth". At 16, he entered art school where he would receive his diploma for painting.
At the age of 19, he left theater school and decided to study musical harmonization and composition with focus on piano and setar.
