This is when I feel that I can make a difference. How can you make a difference? That also applies to businesses. HP is one of the most sustainable companies in the world and they take the lead in progress. That said, I also believe technology can be used in the fight to reverse the negative imprint.”
Henriette explains that it is all about reaching out to people: ”Several things motivate me in my work, but what motivates me the most is probably when I help a customer to gain insight into how sustainability relates to IT.”
– How did you end up in the IT industry?
“My journey into the IT industry started back in 2001, when I became an intern with HP as part of my studies in export engineering.
This is a large undertaking which requires dedication and courage, both of which we have. They are sharing with their partners ways in which we can optimize our efforts, and they are very specific.
I was immediately inspired by the possibilities within IT. In 2002, I landed my first job in the industry which was a temporary position covering for somebody who was on maternity leave in the Danish marketing division of HP. That job became my launching pad for my focused journey in the IT industry. This program is the first of its kind and through this, HP is assembling its partners to work towards a better future.
As announced on International Women’s Day we now launch our portrait series of women in Danoffice IT. The words above are the words of our ESG Manager, Henriette Normann-Ekegren – one of the initiators behind the portrait series. They are not strictly focused on the environment and their overall efforts on the concept of sustainability as a whole sets them apart from the rest.
I love technology and all the clever things it provides us with, but I also know that technology has a negative imprint on the climate in terms of CO2 emissions. When I was very young, I had a dream of studying at the film school, but my introduction to the IT industry was a defining moment. At Danoffice IT, we have been a part of this from the start and now in 2024, we have been awarded the highest distinction of five stars through this program.
From our early beginnings, we have been a global operation in our work with one of the world’s leading NGO’s. What is it like to be a woman in Danoffice IT? And why is this industry a great career choice?
