Hans Sandgren Jakobsen’s Radon, on its characteristic three legs, was introduced by Lightyears in 2005.
Innovation and aesthetics are equal values and the objective is always to end up with a piece of furniture that appears in its entire own right.
Born in 1963. This does not in any way
imply that functionality suffers as a result when Sandgren Jakobsen tests out new ideas from his workshop in the old ferry terminal at Grenå harbour.
This is a chair built for comfort as well as beauty - and the #105 Dining Chair is extremely pleasant to sit in. However, like many other Danish furniture designers, Sandgren Jakobsen is also fascinated by the American Shakers and their furniture.
The chair is manufactured by Japanese ASAHIWOOD – a company that has produced high quality wooden furniture since 1966.
He set out to make a chair that can be passed down through generations – using as few resources as possible. To create a piece of furniture is often a long process. The time is an important factor, which enables to design, reflect, test, and further develop and to use the material optimally. It is a chair made for life.
Built for a lifetime – and beyond
The chair is made from solid wood with a twisting back piece, giving it the characteristic look and appeal that made it into a modern classic.
