Govinda’s Bollywood debut
In the year 1986, Govinda made his acting debut with the Bollywood film ‘Ilzaam.’ He also lent his voice to the song ‘I am a Street Dancer’ in the film.
In 1947, after the India-Pakistan partition, his father came to Punjab from the Gujranwala region of Pakistan.
His mother was a Muslim, and after marrying her father, she converted to Hinduism.
Govinda is a popular Indian actor. They both got married on 11 March 1987, but their marriage was kept secret for one year in a fear that it might threaten his female fan following.

- Before their marriage, she used to deny participating in dance competitions with Govinda as he was a small-town boy, and she belonged to high society.
- Years before, Govinda, in an interview with the Stardust magazine, revealed that he had been in love with the actress, Neelam Kothari and it was a complete coincidence as to how he got engaged to Sunita.
He even said that he would maintain distance with them.
He is considered one of the best dancers in Bollywood industry. Talking about the matter, Govinda said-
Not that Sunita and I were not married all these years. Later, Krushna came into the media to clarify that the tweet was for Arti Singh (his sister) and not Govinda and his wife.
His projects were a hit especially with the late actor Kader Khan. He additionally wrote song lyrics, including I Love You Bol Daal from Haseena Maan Jaayegi (1999). Later, Govinda said that it was some people from Bollywood who wanted to defame him.
Interesting facts about Govinda
Govinda’s real name is Govind Arun Ahuja. His father, Arun Kumar Ahuja was an actor, and his mother, Nirmala Ahuja was a homemaker.
He completed his Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree from Annasaheb Vartak College in Vasai. Later, when Govinda was again invited as a guest at The Kapil Sharma Show, Krushna being one of the comedians on the show decided to remain absent from the sets on that day.
One day, Sunita’s mother caught hold of one of the letters and came to know about their affair.

His hobbies include travelling and dancing.
He likes to eat homemade food. Govinda said that Krushna has been making money by insulting others on television. In 2022, Krushna apologised to Govinda with teary eyes while he was invited as a guest at the YouTube podcast show of the Indian actor and comedian Maniesh Paul.
In 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic, Krushna tried to contact Govinda, but his efforts were wasted. Inspired by the film Disco Dancer (1982), Govinda decided to pursue acting as a full-time career.[2]
