The gods, in their wisdom, made his hard drive crash so no one would ever have to read it - and then made sure he was sent to do a master's degree in creative writing at UCT, which involved creating a story about a bunch of people who all dream about being murdered by the same serial killer. He currently works as books editor at City Press in Johannesburg, where he's paid for his efforts, for the most part, in free books.
