The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival
The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival is committed to creating a safe, welcoming and anti-racist space where all people are treated with respect and dignity.
We work with local collaborators including the PEC Arts Council, Baxter Arts Centre and other arts and tourism stakeholders to ensure programming aligns with community interests. Festival highlights include Scott Thompson as Buddy Cole in King, a TallBoyz reunion, Sex T-Rex in their smash hit SwordPlay, and BDB Mandarin Sketch Comedy Troupe (pictured), the sole Mandarin-speaking sketch/improv comedy troupe in Canada.
TOsketchfest’s Festival Series will feature hilarious ensembles and solo acts including:
$20 Sandwich, Amanda Xeller, Anders Yates, Anti-Thematic, Late Time with Banzo and Blair, B.O.A.T.S.
Through partnerships with local venues, artists, and community organizations, Comedy Country creates opportunities for shared laughter, cultural connection, and community engagement with the comedic arts in under-served rural areas.
Since 2015, Comedy Country has presented stand-up, sketch, and improv performances throughout PEC, partnering with traditional performance venues such as The Regent Theatre, and Mount Tabor Playhouse; with County businesses like Rosehall Run, County Cider Company, and Hatch Gallery; and community spaces in Athol, Wellington, Bloomfield, and Picton.
Through workshops, panels, Q&As, and casual hangs, we bring creators together to sharpen their skills, share knowledge, and build community (with lots of laughs along the way).
It’s all part of our mission to celebrate and elevate the art of sketch comedy. The Learning + Fun program is back, bringing comedians of all levels together for skill-building workshops, insightful panels, and some good old-fashioned fun!
From March 5-16, 2025, we’re rolling out a lineup of comedy tastemakers and industry pros to help you sharpen your craft, spark new ideas, and grow your comedy community.
We offer County residents the unique opportunity to try comedy themselves through innovative community arts initiatives. Now, a small, diverse jury of sketch comedy professionals reviews every submission and makes programming recommendations. We are grateful for the work done by Bespoke Cultural Collective, and the honest and thoughtful feedback provided by BIPOC members of the comedy community through this process.

The goal was to identify areas for improvement and consult with BIPOC members of the Toronto sketch comedy community for an unbiased evaluation of TOsketchfest’s activities, mandate, and role in the artistic community.
This assessment, largely completed in 2022, has influenced several decisions and actions taken by the organization in recent years.
Diversity was a key focus in a recent board renewal, bringing BIPOC comedy leaders into the governance of the organization.
