When the plan of proving God’s existence does not seem to be working out as hoped, Caveh Zahedi decides to drop MDMA with his father and brother on film. Also ranked in the elit list of famous people born in United States. The film generated criticism after Zahedi insisted that his father and brother take the drug Ecstasy with him on film.
Zahedi has also appeared in several films in acting roles, including Alexander Payne’s Citizen Ruth, Greg Watkins’ A Sign From God, Richard Linklater’s Waking Life, and Registered Sex Offender.
He was awarded the grant by the French government, and he began work on the project. Through re‑enactments, the film recounted Zahedi’s struggle with his addiction to prostitutes and the havoc it wreaked on his marriages and romantic relationships. The film premiered at SXSW in 2012, was named by Film Comment the best film at SXSW that year, and was picked up for theatrical distribution by Factory 25.
The Show About the Show (2015-2019) is a self-reflexive TV show about its own making in which each episode tells the story of the making of the previous episode.

The film premiered on the Independent Film Channel. The film took him another two years to complete and, when he screened the final cut to the committee, they voted to discontinue funding the film. It was only after he won the Gotham Award, for “Best Film Not Playing in a Theater Near You”, that IFC Films picked up the film.
Caveh Zahedi cast his teenage half-brother and his father in the film, which turned into a comedic scenario at the end. At that time, he attempted to raise the funds to produce a film about Arthur Rimbaud, but was unable to come up with any money at all. Caveh Zahedi celebrates birthday on April 29 of every year.

When he screened the film for the committee, his project funding was immediately terminated to Caveh Zahedi’s great remorse.The film was an experimental narrative in which he re‑enacted his unrequited love for a UCLA art student, using real-life participants. He has appeared and acted in In the Bathtub of the World (2001), Waking Life (2001), A Sign From God (2002), Money Buys Happiness (2000), I Was Possessed By God (1999), Treasure Island (1999), Citizen Ruth (1996), I Don’t Hate Las Vegas Anymore (1995), and A Little Stiff (1991).
Zahedi studied philosophy at Yale University.
The film was a year-long video diary, with the premise of recording one minute every day for an entire year, and editing the footage down to 90 minutes. (Last Update: December 11, 2023)
Zahedi subsequently returned to Los Angeles to attend UCLA film school. Consisting of 7 episodes (to date), it is a “a self-reflexive TV show about its own making in which each episode tells the story of the making of the previous episode”.
In 2017, The Show About the Show became a film, composed of some of the series’ episodes.
