Where I need to source a product rather than make it, I choose the very best British artisans and suppliers, such as James Hare, Joyce Jackson and Clare Lloyd, with whom I have worked for over a decade, to enable me to produce exceptional quality in my gowns, veils and hair accessories.
Your bespoke wedding dress experience
Consistency
When you come to see me, for your first consultation appointment, I will help you try on samples as separate tops and skirts (which I have in a range of sizes), so you can explore different combinations of bodice, strap, sleeve and skirt styles until you find the perfect and most flattering wedding dress silhouette, which I will sketch for you.
This ensures the vital proportions are correct (for example taking into account your height and bra size). Many of my brides book with me because I offer the flexibility that once you have booked, you can still amend your design up to the point where I take your measurements (about 4 months before your wedding). During recent months, I've been talking to several schools and colleges, spending time with fashion and textile design students, and absolutely loving sharing my passion for promoting an uplifting and positive approach to sustainability within the fashion and bridal industry.I’m happy to be part of a panel, or take to the floor alone, I love a Q&A, and always like to stay for the coffee, chat and after party!Since becoming an author and joining Toastmasters International, my spontaneous speaking style has become increasingly purposeful.
In that case, I might just be your gal!Having received three bookings as a speaker in the last week, I felt this deserved a brand new page on my website: Caroline Arthur Speaker . This luxurious option gives you the control & freedom to design your own unique bespoke wedding dress silhouette, and have it made in your choice of fabric and colour.
I created the original online dress designer tool: “Couture Kit”, which works like a bespoke, mix and match collection. You can call 01428 681727, or email [email protected] .
The 3 ways a wedding dress can be made…
Made To Measure
"Made to Measure" is how I make my wedding dresses. There's an international speaking competition coming up soon at Toastmasters, so I'm currently working on a speech for that, when not buried under a mountain of wedding dresses. Each of my talks is tailor-made for that audience, with relatable examples, and a liberal dose of humour and interaction. Tickets available soon.My media experience includes commentating live for The Independent at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan in 2018, in Windsor.
But every dress is different, so do get in touch to chat about your ideas for your gown, whether you’d like it made to measure, or you have a dress already which needs customising or re-styling: [email protected]
What is a bespoke wedding dress?
Bespoke wedding dresses, or custom bridal gowns, are one-off, tailor made dresses, created for you by a designer dress maker, to your measurements, which means it will fit you perfectly.
Even after this, I work hard to incorporate all your design ideas (which do occasionally change along the way!) to ensure your bridal gown is exactly as you would wish. Caroline created the most stunning dress that was totally "me," and my dress was better than I could have ever imagined”
Amelia
“Working with Caroline was one of the most amazing experiences, and she makes you feel secure every step of the way”
Valentina
“I absolutely loved my dress!
Numerous radio interviews, and featuring on BBC’s “Don’t tell the Bride”, has enabled me to feel comfortable in front of the camera, and on the stage. It might as well get used to it, as there is more to come.I speak to a broad range of audiences, from students to textile experts, on a broad range of subjects including setting up and running a creative business, work/life balance, body positivity, upcycling and what to do with your old wedding dress.
Made To Order
You’ll find this in most bridal boutiques, where you will find a selection of wedding dress samples, which you can try on, and then you order your favourite in your standard dress size (14, 16, 18 and so on), occasionally with a choice of different fabrics. I will take time to understand your ideas, help you to explore all choices possible when creating your ideal silhouette, customised to bring your vision to life, and individually handmade to fit you beautifully, in your choice of fabric.
Flexibility
If you have tried on many wedding dresses, it is sometimes very hard to reach a decision about your dress.
When you contact me with your CoutureKit app design, I encourage you also to send me your Pinterest board or any images of features that you’d like to incorporate into your wedding dress design, so I can fully understand your vision

Luxury
My bespoke wedding dresses are 100% British-made by me personally.
After twenty years running my own business as a wedding dress designer, I love sharing my real-life experience of building a successful creative career, and weaving in stories from the fashion and bridal world.Sam Jones, Course leader, Farnborough College of Technology described me as: "Caroline is an energetic speaker who is passionate about sustainability within the bridal and fashion industry, and generous both with her knowledge and time” You can come and see me speak at Farnham Maltings Thread Festival on 8th June 2024, about upcycling and what to do with your old wedding dress.
I personally make every single bespoke gown made under my label, to ensure that your gown fits you beautifully, and the experience is simple and fun. If there is no lead time, then this is sometimes called: “Off the Peg”, and even though the shop will measure you, you will invariably need a seamstress to alter it to fit you properly. It was so nice to be able to tweak and change it to make it completely my own!”
