Times Now
Since 2006, Goswami was the editor-in-chief and a news anchor of the Times Now news channel.[26] His show The Newshour is aired at 9 pm with live news coverage, which has featured notable personalities like Parvez Musharraf.[27] He also hosts a special programme Frankly Speaking with Arnab,[28] which has featured personalities such as Benazir Bhutto[29] and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown,[30] Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai,[31] retired head of state of the Tibetan Government in ExileDalai Lama,[32] former United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton,[33] and was the first to interview Prime MinisterNarendra Modi since he took office in 2014.[34] He has also written a book named Combating Terrorism: The Legal Challenge.[35] On 1 November 2016, Goswami resigned as the Editor-in Chief of Times Now.[3][36]

Goswami is the Managing Director and co-founder of the upcoming news channel called Republic TV which is to be launched in 2017.[37][38]
Criticism
Some commentators have criticized Goswami for his style of TV panel discussion.[39][40][41][42]Kavita Krishnan, a Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) (CPI-ML) affiliated activist, criticized Goswami's stance on sensitive issues and stated that "When channels and newspapers brand terror accused as "terrorists", or rape-accused as "rapists" and orchestrate the chant for the death penalty for them; when they act as stenos or loudspeakers for the police or investigative agencies in terror cases; are they not doing grievous harm and endangering people's lives and safety?

Goswami's heated discussions during The Newshour has invited criticism from newsweekly Outlook running a cover story titled 'The Man Who Killed TV News'.[45] "Newshour is where Arnab plays judge, the audience the jury", the report stated, adding that "On key news events, Arnab has emerged as The Great Polariser, his acid tongue stripping complex issues of all nuance"[45] Goswami, in a key note address to Goafest, defended his brand of journalism by stating, "The journalism I follow is journalism of opinion and is not PR driven.

Early life and education
Goswami was born in Guwahati, Assam on 9 October 1973.[12][13][14] His paternal grandfather, Rajani Kanta Goswami, was a lawyer, a Congress leader and an independence activist.[14] His maternal grandfather, Gauri, was a Communist and leader of the opposition in Assam for many years.[14] He was a writer and a recipient of the Asam Sahitya Sabha Award.

• On May 26, 2017, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor lodged a defamation case in the Delhi High Court against Goswami's TV channel Republic TV for linking Tharoor to Sunanda Pushkar's death.
• On 30 August 2018, the News Broadcasting Standards Authority (NBSA) asked the Republic TV to release a full-screen apology to its viewers for the inappropriate comments that Arnab Goswami had made during the broadcast of a programme 'Jignesh Flop Show' on Republic TV.

He also allegedly allegations of communal nature against her. Arnab Goswami's father is Colonel (Retd.) Manoranjan Goswami and his mother is Suprabha Gain-Goswami.[15] Manoranjan has been a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and contested the 1998 Lok Sabha Polls as the BJP candidate for the Guwahati to Lok Sabha of Assam where he was defeated by Congress candidate Bhubaneshwar Kalita.[16] His maternal uncle, Siddhartha Bhattacharya, a BJP MLA from Gauhati East constituency, was the head of the Assam unit of the party before Sarbananda Sonowal took over in 2015.[17]
As an army officer's son, he attended schools in various cities.
• On the morning of 4 November 2020, he was arrested in a joint operation by the Raigad police and the Mumbai Police from his home in Mumbai in connection with abetment to suicide case of an architect, Anvay Naik, who designed Arnab's studio. Arnab Goswami lashes out at Aamir Khan for meeting Turkish president
Controversial Indian news anchor Arnab Goswami lashed out at Bollywood actors for their silence during Operation Sindoor and particularly targeted Aamir Khan after his old pictures resurfaced showing the actor with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and First Lady Emine Erdogan.
Goswami alleged that despite Turkiye’s well-known anti-India stance, Aamir Khan chose to meet President Erdogan.
After Mr. Naik and his mother were found dead at their home in Alibaug, Maharashtra in 2018, Mr. Naik's wife claims that in a suicide note he had mentioned that Mr. Goswami was responsible for his death.
He pointed to Khan’s visits to Turkiye in 2017 and again in 2020, during which he met the First Lady.
The infamous anchor accused Khan of "pretending to be apolitical" while maintaining ties with countries opposing India.
Goswami further blamed the box office failure of Laal Singh Chaddha on the fact that it was filmed in Turkiye.

Goswami also targeted the actor for his past comments about considering leaving India.
Additionally, Salman Khan drew Goswami's ire for a social media post appreciating the ceasefire between Pakistan and India and stated that the actor “did not say anything before that.”
Goswami condemned the gesture, arguing that Salman had remained silent before and was now only attempting damage control.
Calling Turkish President Erdogan "delusional and crazy," Goswami urged Indian filmmakers to boycott Turkiye and avoid shooting films there, and advocated for an economic ban on Turkiye.

Arnab Goswami (full name: Arnab Ranjan Goswami[2]) (born 9 October 1973) is an Indian journalist and television newsanchor.
Later, Mr. Naik's wife shared a suicide note left by her husband in which Arnab Goswami, along with two others, was held responsible for the death of Mr. Naik.
On 11 November 2020, he was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court of India. Arnab has a Bachelor's (Hons.) in Sociology from the Hindu College in Delhi University.[18][19][20] In 1994 Arnab completed his Master's in Social Anthropology from St.
Antony's College, in Oxford University.[21]
In 2000, Arnab was a Visiting D C Pavate Fellow at the International Studies Department at Sidney Sussex College,Cambridge University.[22]
Career
Before joining NDTV in 1995 Arnab Goswami started his career in The Telegraph in Kolkata,[23]
He later shifted his career in TV news broadcast with NDTV 24x7 in 1995, where he anchored daily newscasts, and reporting for News Tonight a programme telecast on DD Metro.[24] Later as the news editor, he was part of NDTV's core team during the transition from programme producer to the 24-hour mode in 1998.[citation needed] He hosted the Newshour show every weeknight.
