Despite her own successful acting career, Anjana Mumtaz was initially against her son Ruslaan choosing the path of acting. Some of her notable works include the melodrama "Dhadkan" (2000), the comedy musical "Dil Ka Kya Kasoor" (1991), and the action thriller "Baadshah" (1999). Later, she also learned classical Kathak Dance from Sir Gopi Krishan.
Their son, Ruslaan Mumtaz, is a Bollywood actor, debuting in Mera Pehla Pehla Pyar (2007). She is the mother of Ruslaan Mumtaz, a well-known Bollywood actor born on August 2, 1979. In total, she has acted in over a hundred films.
She has also appeared in television series. She made her debut in Sumbundh (1969), a successful film, playing the lead role.
