Career

After completing his studies and his PIL work at Harvard, Singhvi returned to India and established himself as a successful lawyer. The matter eventually concluded with an out-of-court settlement. He is a Member of Parliament; the senior most National Spokesperson of the Congress Party; the youngest designated Senior Advocate, Supreme Court (at age 34); a former and youngest Additional Solicitor General of India (ASG) (at 37) and former elected Vice President, Supreme Court Bar Association.

His doctoral dissertation focused on Emergency Powers. Following the incident, he also resigned from his position as head of the parliamentary standing committee for law and justice. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in April 2006.
