We were 12 and 10 respectively when we first met in Durban, South Africa. Zavion was not allowed to tell anyone that he was going to be on Survivor and quickly disappeared for a full month.
John, a quiet english boy from the area, and Zavion an Afrikaans boy from Johannesburg. Through life's many changes, the pair always found their way back to each other discovering that their bond was much more than friendship, it was love. The best tip we can give anyone planning their own wedding is to Lead with Love, passion and understanding; after that, everything will fall into place.
After chatting for months, and finding, once again, the friendship that was so strong, we were interrupted again by the TV show Survivor.
We have loved each other, probably since we were small kids, and that love is even stronger now. It was only when a huge billboard featuring Zavion’s face came out that John knew where he had been.
Once he returned from the island, we reconnected again and immediately discovered that what was once a friendship, was defined to be love. This friendship lasted for years until we were separated by high schools and colleges.

Love Story Of The Day: Grooms Met As Children & Always Found Their Way Back To Each Other
Zavion and John met as children.
Planning our own wedding was easy as we have collectively planned over 600 weddings. They started as best friends became business partners, successfully planning over 600 weddings collectively, and now they're partners in love.
Zavion Kotze-Brereton is well-known for putting together show-stopping weddings and crafting perfection.
But starting a family is sometimes easier said than done.

In an Instagram post, Zavion and his husband shared the wonderful news that they are expecting their first child!
The couple announced that they are expecting a baby girl due in March 2024 and said: "It feels completely surreal and we are so completely overwhelmed with love already for our little thing."

They also mentioned that their expanding family would not have been possible without the help of "friends, attorneys, doctors, fertility clinics, psychologists, embryologists and and and - the list is unbelievably long".
