To mark the fifteenth anniversary of my book The Cry Of The Icemark winning the inaugural Waterstone's Book Prize, my publishers are relaunching the book with a new cover!

Stuart was born and brought up in Leicester.

It will be an Arthurian tale with a twist.

The Cry of the Icemark was published in 2005 by Chicken House and won the inaugural Waterstones Children's Book Prize the same year.

Stuart Hill is the award-winning author of the acclaimed Icemark Trilogy of historical fantasy novels. Merlin and Arthur will not be portrayed as the good guys but as baddies. His books have been translated into 18 languages.[8]

Stuart Hill (born 1958[1]) is a British author. He is also working on a self-publishing project called "Black Dog".

After teaching English in Greece for several years, he then worked as a book seller in Leicester from 1994 - 2004. He was born in Leicester, where he still lives.[2] He has written four books in The Icemark Chronicles: The Cry of the Icemark, Blade of Fire, Last Battle of the Icemark and Prince Of The Icemark.[3] He studied English, Classics and Ancient History at Newcastle University.[4]

Hill has written a book called Sorceress about post-Roman Britain and the struggle between the indigenous Celts and the invading Germanic tribes (Anglo-Saxons).

Stuart's novels have been translated into 18 languages and he is invited to many schools and festivals to talk about his work. He worked at a car factory for six years before going back to college to get his teaching degree. The book is currently in limbo regarding whether it will ever be released. Merlin and Arthur will not be portrayed as the good guys but as baddies.

He worked at a car factory for six years before going back to college to get his teaching degree.[5] After teaching English in Greece for several years, he then worked as a book seller in Leicester from 1994 - 2004.[4] Stuart then began writing the Icemark series and when his book was accepted for publication by Chicken House, he dedicated his time to writing the rest of the series.

2013 saw the release of the first prequel to the Icemark series entitled Prince of the Icemark.

Hill has released a couple of non-fiction books in the 'I Was There!' series called 'Richard III's Court' and 'Viking Invasion'.[7]

In 2005, The Cry of the Icemark, the first book in the series, was published and copyrighted.[6]

On 25 July 2011, Hill released a new book on Kindle. His books have been translated into 18 languages.
