Champaran Satyagraha
The Champaran agitation in 1917 was the first major success of Gandhi after his arrival in India.
In a short period, Gandhi became a leader of the Indian community in South Africa. Tirukkural ancient Indian literature, originally written in Tamil and later translated into various languages. He believed that the British succeeded in India only because of the co-operation of the Indians. Nelson Mandela, the leader of South Africa's struggle against apartheid was a recipient of the award.

He lost an academic year in between because of his wedding but later rejoined the school and eventually completed his schooling. But as the Khilafat Movement ended abruptly, all his efforts evaporated into thin air.

Non-cooperation Movement was one of Gandhi’s most important movements against the British.

He was sentenced to six years imprisonment, but served only two years in prison. On a train voyage to Pretoria, he was thrown out of a first-class railway compartment and beaten up by a white stagecoach driver after refusing to give up his seat for a European passenger.
