Two sons, Kraig Pride and Dion Pride, and one daughter, Angela Pride. They'd just met earlier that year: He was playing Negro League baseball for the Memphis Red Sox and she was a dedicated baseball fan.

Although the couple were only in their early 20s at the time, and married after a whirlwind courtship, their love stood the test of time.

She shared that she was a flight attendant when she met Charley and started casual relationships since their very first meeting.

According to the family, the reason for his death was related to COVID-19. Furthermore, Charley and Rozene are also grandparents and great grandparents of five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

His elder brother, Mack Pride is in Ministry who previously played in Negro League baseball. 

Furthermore, at the age of fourteen, his mother bought him a guitar but he ended up being a professional baseball player. "Chet used to say, 'Rozene, you're so pretty.'"

As Pride's career began to blossom, his family was growing, too.
