I am an Emeritus Professor of Translational Psychology at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, a member of the Health Professions Council and Fellow of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy.
In 2007 she founded the Charlie Waller Institute of Evidenced-Based Psychological Treatment at the University of Reading, continuing as its director until 2012.
Individuals are also able to access the full range of Bespoke Mental Health’s training.
NICE Expert Adviser Panel for the NICE Centre for Guidelines. She is a Trustee of Winstons Wish. She is currently working to understand and integrate evidence-based psychological treatments in young people with mental health disorders in the context of physical illness.

Shafran has provided national and international training workshops in her areas of clinical expertise, has over 300 publications, and the lead author on Overcoming Perfectionism. Bespoke Mental Health aims to provide world leading mental health training and services to as many people as possible who could benefit from their work.
I am an honorary Consultant Clinical Psychologist, a member of the Health Professions Council and Fellow of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy.

Her clinical research interests focus on the development, evaluation, dissemination and implementation of cognitive behavioural treatments for eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder and perfectionism across the age range.I jointly lead the ICH GOS MentalHealth Strategic Initiative.
In addition to publishing over 400 academic clinical research papers, she has co-authored and co-edited six books including self-help bestsellers. In 2020, she co-founded and directed Bespoke Mental Health, which seeks to improve mental wellbeing by providing world-leading training and consultancy in psychological treatments that work, delivered by global experts in the field
