The Wadali Brothers (Puranchand Wadali & Pyarelal Wadali) are Sufi singers and musicians from Guru ki Wadali in the Amritsar District in Punjab, India. They have never indulged commercially and they have only a handful of recordings to their name (mostly from live concerts).
Puran Chand was driven into singing by his father. Their father, Thakur Das, forced Puranchand into music. They do not charge their disciples, and lead a very simple life devoted to the divine one. He was born on 4 June 1940; in Amritsar, Punjab. His father, Thakur Das Wadali, was a renowned vocalist, and he has three brothers, including Pyarelal Wadali, who is also a singer.
The Wadali Brothers sing in the gurbani, kaafi, ghazal and bhajan genres of music. Their collective talents formed the celebrated Wadali Brothers musical duo.

Career
Puranchand Wadali, along with his brother Pyarelal Wadali, formed the renowned musical duo known as the Wadali Brothers.
He studied music from the masters’ Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan of Patiala Gharana and Pandit Durga Das.
Pyarelal(his younger brother) got his training from Puran Chand, who he considered his guru(teacher) and mentor till his death. Puran Chand is mainly associated Sufi style of singing. The duo went to Jalandhar to perform at the Harballabh Sangeet Sammelan but was not allowed to sing because their appearance did not pass muster.
They believe in singing freely as homage to the divine one.
