Thereafter He lectured briefly at UNN, and later at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka,where he tenaciously rose through the rank to become a Professor of Geology, Head of department, Dean of faculty, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administrations, Acting Vice Chancellor and later Vice Chancellor of the same Institution

He was a former member of the constituent Assembly and a former Honourable Commissioner in the new Anambra State.

He holds the revered traditional title of Owelle Umuchu.

Happy birthday to this Intellectual Icon, Sage, the Professors' Professor, Geologist of International acclaim, Vice Chancellor of the moment(during his era as VC) and very humble man, whose wisdom is rare and brilliance second to none.
