When human beings make an appearance in his work they do so as isolated, solitary figures, holding bright red umbrellas against the murky grey twilight of a rain soaked evening. The play on light is very important, this can be seen from the reflection off the waves of the sea, the flickering light of a lantern in the darkest of streets, the beauty seen from a sunrise or sunset.
Marek Langowski was born in Aleksandrow Lódzki.

Fond of Poland’s art scene - for many years the Harte International Galleries team has traveled to Warsaw, Krakow and Zakopane in search of artists that are unaffected by the influences of modern training and contemporary European commercial success.

My work is mostly contemporary oil paintings with a thick texture of paint. His seascapes contain every flick of light, caught fleetingly on the temporary crest of a wave as the boats hold their solid forms in front of the dissipating sunlight.
